happy day

I have come to really cherish being at home and doing things away from work. I guess it might be that 7 year itch or maybe just a healthier perspective on life. Either way, I woke up ready to soak in a day off! It is turning out to be a happy day!

Yesterday, I had a package slip in my mailbox. I love mail! That alone would have been enough to get me out of bed. :) The first stop I made this morning was the apartment office to see who had sent me something. To my delight I was presented with a a large envelope from THE WHITE HOUSE! I'll admit I had been checking more regularly for the past month since Mr. Cheney had sparked some excitement in my little box. It's possible I had even gotten my hopes up for a Presidential Christmas card, but this will do...

The ironic thing was that while Cheney got by without the postage...Bush paid it! I'm looking forward to figuring out a way to frame these pieces of history--a neat keepsake.

Then I headed to Starbucks for a holiday treat and one to share! :) I took this opportunity to visit my friend, Maile, in her classroom. It was fun to be on the otherside of the visitors' pass. She has done a great job making a cozy learning environment for those kids. It's clear she loves them! I am so glad that I got to peak into her world this morning.

Now, it's time for more errands. I think I'll try to squeeze in a few fun ones...hehe, maybe I'll see my favorite clerk at the cleaners.
