summertime

This is what summer is about...When I got home from a staff development session this afternon, I took a wonderful nap on the couch in my cool apartment. Then, I baked some cupcakes. They were a new recipe that I first attempted yesterday--who doesn't like s'mores in the summertime? Tonight they were even better! It's strange how the smallest thing can change a recipe. ;)

Later, my best friends came over for dinner. I love it when this happens. I wish I could have soaked in the time a little more because the girls fill my heart with joy. There's something about a child! After dinner we went down to the playground. What a nice night! The sun had gone down just enough for it to be shaded and cool.

They got to play on the slides and I explored my new camera a little more!

The sweetest part was when they had been gone for about five minutes...I got a text that said, "Katherine misses you already"...it kind of goes with the note she wrote that says "Mackey, I love you the most!"

I'm going to miss them during the next few weeks. I'll be looking forward to the next time!
