new music

Hehe! New music on i-tunes two Tuesdays in a row! I was so excited to download the new albums from Eli Young Band and Randy Rogers Band. I thought it was really amusing that I had to download and sync before going to work!

So I am very impressed by Eli Young's work on this one. They have progressed with their sound in a way that I think is really crisp and polished. It makes me want to listen to it over and over. A very long awaited release. What's kind of neat also, is that in some ways it seems like an old friend because they've been playing the songs at their shows for a few months now. I already have connections to my "new favorite song".

I have been very anxious about the debut of Randy Roger's latest CD. Man, I could hardly wait. I had heard a few songs this summer and last month at the fair in Denton. I was just sure that it was going to be the best thing yet! Since I am a true "super fan" it seems completely wrong to have the thoughts in my mind. I've listened to it several times...there are definitely some songs that have potential. I feel sure I've spotted the new live hits! On the other hand...well, I've been hesitant to express it but---really?

See you Saturday night at the Eli Young show...this set might take me back down front!

sigh

Hummm....*!*!

That's what I have to say about that, and that, and that...
Now that I've got it off my chest...I can keep on keeping on.

...for some reason, I'm nearly laughing.

affections

I've been thinking lately about the things that stir my affections for Christ. Here are a few things...

1. creation

2. the innocence of a child

3. what I've learned from experiences, such as a deeper understanding of worship

4. His provision and guidance

I'm curious what does it for others...maybe if I try your things, I will appreciate them and Him in a new light!

being known

Being known is very hard. I mean being truly known. So often we use our defense mechanisms to protect ourselves from others by keeping them at arms length. As a result, even those who should be the closest are actually strangers! I am reluctant. Misunderstood. Defeated. Layered. Full. Strong. I have a desire to be deeply known and loved...for all that I am and in spite of all that I am not.

I am so thankful that God created me "wonderful" and loves me enough in my darkest moments to provide the sacrifice which allows me to live in a relationship with Him, to glorify Him. Amazing...that He loved me then and now just as I am, but too much to leave me that way. What a blessing...that he has provided me with the resources, faith, and relationships so that I don't have to go through it alone. As he continues to shape me into who He desires for me to become...

I seek to be known for His glory.

dreaming

My mind is in the clouds tonight. I want really bad to take a small road trip! The river is calling my name...maybe San Antonio would be a good place to stay. It won't take me long to pack! Hummm...

Despite what I hear, summer is not quite over!

patience

Patience...it is so hard for me to have it. I start getting anxious about things, worrying, and filling in the blanks with things that may or may not be true. However, I have been shown again that waiting can have its rewards. These feelings definitely outweigh even the same result when I push it. I am learning to take the back seat on some things. Ugh! I want so much to have control so that things will move at my pace!

Now that I think of it a little more, that is true in several areas of my life. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. At this point, when its getting closer, is it easier or harder to be patient? Somehow I don't have the emotions that I anticipated. Interesting to me.
Believing it will be soon...and fantastic!

rockstar

These days everyone wants to be a rockstar. Nickelback said it...spending hours in a spa being pampered, shopping, eating at superb restuarants, all with good friends--its not a bad life. It is also a well known fact that my absolute favorite place to be is surrounded by music. So after a day spent doing the things of rockstars, I'm saying, "It's for me!"

Or maybe...I just want to be the rockstar's girl, aka "with the band"!
